
Family Law Paralegal

Compensation:
We are offering $65,000 to $85,000 with commission for this position, commensurate with experience.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Family Law Paralegal to become an integral part of our legal team. The ideal candidate will be a cornerstone of our practice, providing essential support to our attorneys, ensuring the seamless progression of cases, and delivering exceptional service to our clients. You will work directly with attorneys on all phases of family law litigation, from initial client intake through to final resolution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and file legal documents, including correspondence, pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, and proposed judgments.
- Prepare and manage discovery, including the preparation of Massachusetts Rule 401 financial statements, document requests, and interrogatories.
- Manage case files, including organizing documents, tracking deadlines, and maintaining our document management system.
- Serve as a key point of contact for clients, providing case updates and gathering necessary information with professionalism and empathy.
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, depositions, hearings, and other court-related deadlines.
- Conduct legal research using platforms such as Westlaw and LexisNexis to support case strategy.
- Assist attorneys in preparing for hearings, depositions, and trials, including the preparation of trial binders and exhibits.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a paralegal, with strong preference for experience in Massachusetts family law.
- Paralegal certificate or degree from an ABA-approved program is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of Massachusetts procedures, court rules, and e-filing systems.
- Proficiency in legal case management software and Microsoft Office Suite. (Experience with Practice Panther software platform is a major plus.)
- Exceptional legal drafting, proofreading, and research skills.
- Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with clients, court personnel, and opposing counsel.
- A high degree of professionalism and discretion in handling sensitive and confidential information.
